The Decodables: Code Breakers (Fiction)
Code Breakers is a series designed to support readers who have mastered basic decoding skills and are moving into the later alphabetic and consolidated phase of reading. Through carefully selected words and high-interest topics, each book allows upper elementary readers the opportunity to practice advanced phonics patterns and morphemes with engaging, age-appropriate text. This set of 10 fiction decodable books follows a class of students presenting their science projects. Readers will follow Valarie through a crystal cave or Richard chasing a storm with his family while they develop their skills in reading words containing long vowel sounds, prefixes, suffixes, and multiple syllables. Includes a note to the caregiver and a word list organized by phonics/affix pattern.
