How Animals Adapt to Survive
Earth is home to millions of animal
species, and each one has its own survival abilities. Polar bears keep warm in
the frigid Arctic with lots of fur and fat. Saber-toothed deer challenge other males to
fight for the attention of females. Such adaptations don't occur overnight;
rather, the adaptive process takes several generations. This series explores
different animals? adaptations and how these adaptations relate to the
ecological niche in which the animals live. Bright, colorful photographs aid
children in making textual connections, and fact boxes provide interesting
insight into these animals? lives.
