The United States: Past and Present
This appealing collection offers students an entertaining view of all of America's states, along with additional titles for Puerto Rico and our nation's capitol. Specific features of the land, history, and culture are highlighted in each book, along with unique information presented in a "past and present" format. Readers learn about the organization of the branches of state and local government and some of the pivotal people who contributed to the state's identity. The agricultural and industrial products and the changing economy are covered as well. Each book includes a timeline and a section called "At a Glance" that provides quick access to state facts.
