Students learn about mercury contamination in U.S. waterways; fish farming and safety concerns; various poultry contaminations (including listeria and salmonella); use and effects of animal growth hormones, antibiotics, and food additives; genetic engineering; irradiation; and the rising concerns about food safety (including meat processing and packing) in the United States today.
