Creatures of the Night
While many people know that bats and owls are nighttime animals, the fact that scorpions and skunks become busy as night falls is less well known. In fact, many of Earth's most fascinating animals are active during the night and twilight hours. This great series introduces some of North America's most common nocturnal and crepuscular (active at twilight) animals. Beautiful full-page color photographs and a wealth of information are sure to capture the imaginations of young readers.

Series Review: Creatures of the Night "Gonzales features animals that
readers might be familiar with but rarely get a chance to see. Basic details are
complemented by eclectic trivia, such as the fact that bats sleep hanging upside
down and that only male crickets chirp. Each volume concludes with a defense of
the animal (for they are not all lovable) and why it is vital to humans. The
layout is attractive, with easy-to-read text and eye-catching photography..."
--School Library Journal Series Review: "This series discusses the night life of
various creatures, what they eat, where they live, life cycles, what is unique
each animal, and other facts...Your students will be fascinated, even more so
than with other animal books. This series gives a new look at some well known
animals and shows a different side to their lives...RECOMMENDED." --Library Media
