Dig It: History from Objects

History is a story we tell about the past. We often find the richest details for that story through the objects people have left behind. This series takes a look at ancient civilizations through their objects, including: clothing, weapons, transportation, and tools created and used in the home. Students will learn to look at objects as an archaeologist might though the "What does it tell you?" fact boxes. These boxes present each object and ask students to think critically about how or why it might have been used. Illustrations, photographs, and a timeline all combine to make each book an invaluable historical reference.
